tuesday evening

This weekend, in therapy, I worked with the CPAP machine. In the pictures, it’s the thing with the mask over my face. It’s usually used for sleep apnea, but they’ve found that it helps people with cleft palettes and strokes. I can really tell a difference in my volume and the sounds like p, b, t, d, k and g. this weekend was the one year anniversary of my stroke. Josh and I went out for pizza, which leighton said was morbid, but he laughed when he said it, so I assume he was joking. I really thought the weekend would bother me, and I’m not happy about it, but I realized that things could be much worse.
Also, this weekend, we got a new van! Josh’s uncle flew to florida and picked up. It’s a pretty blue and it makes everything so much easier for josh and I! I’ve been thinking about it and I don’t think I can ever personally thank everyone like I want to. I don’t even know everything that’s been done. So, I would like to thank everyone, who gave financial assistance, visited me, sent a gift or card, or just remembered me in thoughts and prayers.

You have accomplished so much in a year! It looks like you have mastered holding yourself up while laying on your tummy (prone?)....you are amazing. Keep up the excellent work my love!

Hi Gen,
Those are some great pictures! I'm so excited that you have the van. Now it will be easier for you to come visit me. You know, throughout this year it has been very touching to see all the people that love and care about you come together and support you. I think it says a lot about you and the people that care about you.
Thanks again for the pictures. I love to see what you are up to in therapy.
Take care.
Love,
Jenny

p.s.
I got a rubber pencil thing happening here.

Dear Gen,

I am in Colorado again with Amy, her husband Chuck, and their 5 boys. That affords not only fast internet, but any internet. Our provider in Avilla has gone out of business, and so far dish service is our only option. That is a little pricey for now, so we just go visit friends that have dial up. That is a long explanation to say that I haven't checked your blog lately. What an encouragement it was to read your last post. For those of us who have followed your progress and prayed and love you and your family so much, it is more than thanks enough for you to be writing your own posts! You and Josh and your families have been so faithful to keep on working, and trusting God for the results. And even if those vegetables don't make it, you can always buy some on the square. The easiest green beans I ever canned were from Roffmans!

Amy came to Mo to help us work cattle. She tore her ACL in the process, so I am here to help during her recovery from surgery. She is doing well, and I will be home July 2. Sarah has come down from KC to help Bill finish up hay season while I am gone. This 2 weeks will remind her why she loves teaching.

I will watch for that blue van around town!

Love,
Melfin
