Dear Gen and Josh,
What a blessing to log on and get to read Gen's first typed note from Lincoln! Technology is amazing, but I think you two are even more amazing. I can tell you that it is a little warmer here in SW Missouri than it has been in Lincoln. We went to Fort Collins to celebrate Chrismas with Amy and family on the 26th, intending to drive home the night of the 28th. It started snowing that afternoon, but the forcast wasn't forboding, so we decided to spend another night there and drive home in the daylight, after the road crews had a chance to clear I-70. To our surprise, by the morning of the 29th, I-70 was closed from the Denver airport to the Kansas line, and that closing just moved eastward as the day wore on. By 9:00 pm the night of the 30th, we saw that I-80 was open, and Bill decided it was time to head for home. What a trip. I-80 should have been closed! Things looked really snowy when we drove through Lincoln the morning of the 31st. We thought about you guys, but we had cows at home that needed hay, and we had to keep moving. It wasn't until we left Nebraska that we switched from snow to rain, and we figured we were actually going to get back to Carthage. May you have nicer weather to travel! It will be good to have you back home, and I am sure you agree.
Love,
Melfin and Bill
Gen--it is great that you can use the computer! Really looking forward to having you two home for good. See you soon. Love, Dick and Eillen
Gen- when Collette had her stroke in 1996 we ran into that womans " twin sister" so we can relate to how you and Josh felt. Where do they get these nuts?
It was great to read that you did the blog yourself Gen and we are looking forward to your return-- you will be so supprised when you see Jerry! Let us know when you get home -- I want to bring you dinner-- till then just remember you are always in our prayers!
