gen found out today that she got another week here, and that she won first place in the halloween costume contest. she was very happy about both things. she did e stim for an hour and a half in ot, working first on typing, then on raising her arms up above her head. both of those had supports, but she is getting stronger and more accurate in her movements every day. in pt she did some more standing. she also worked on squats, and she did the work on these herself without help. in speech she worked more on conversation, making her speech understandable. she only had one session each of pt and speech today, because she had an outing to see a movie. this is to improve her community skills. she had popcorn, root beer and junior mints. we saw "flags of our fathers" and gen said i was sappy because i liked the ending. oh well. i think i probably really am sappy. we got back from the movie too late to get dinner from the cafeteria here (they close at 6:30) and she hadn't ordered a tray because she is doing independent dining in the evening. so we got some mexican food from taco john's for dinner. it's nice for gen to be able to do normal things like that. we appreciate all of the friends and family who keep encouraging us in so many ways, letting us know we are not forgotten. thank you.

ps jenny: "she's not really dead if we find a way to remember her."
