we lost our old email for good this week. the new email address is genevievehmoore@yahoo.com. we started rehab-day this week, and i think gen has already passed the warming-to-new-therapists phase. she is already making gains. on thanksgiving, gen, my mom, and i watched football and ate food from perkins family restaurant. we also had a very long poker game, which i won.
ot- gen had e-stim on her right forearm this week. she is already turning her forearm over on her own. the new ot, nicole, is working on the same muscle groups as courtney, but she has different excercises for gen to do. i think this change of pace will be good.
pt- gen is standing better this week. we've been doing some therapy on our own this week. standing and doing squats and tippie-toe excercises. gen says these one-on-one workouts are better than theones in pt with the therapist and aide.
speech- gen is talking better this week. i can't say that the speech therapy is helping much, though. she's naturally progressing and, when my mother was here, she understood everything gen was saying, voice or not. the speech therapist is by far the worst therapist we have had.
recreational therapy (these people get paid to play games... it's amazing)- gen and i played yahtzee. gen worked on turning her wrist to dump the dice out of the cup. we also played a game called sequence. with that game, gen worked on pinching playing cards between her thumb and forefinger. she did a really good job.
jenny- my father wears his sneakers in the pool... sneakers!

Dear Josh and Gen,
It sounds like you are enjoying your apartment, even though Susan said it is tiny. Our son-in-law, Chuck, did a summer program in Lincoln while he was in college, and he and Amy were dating. Our car made several trips to Lincoln that summer, and we got to go once. We thought the town was beautiful, with its wide, flower-lined streets. Your lives sound pretty busy with different therapies, so you may not have much time for driving around. Poker and Perkins sounds like a great Thanksgiving Day. Keep on working and know that you continue to be in our prayers.
Love,
Melfin and Bill
Dear Josh and Gen, glad to see you are back on-line. We missed your posts and we especially missed you in OKC. It was so warm we ate outside like last year. There weren't nearly as many leaves in the food this year though. Matt and Laine had a big job representing the cousins all by themselves. Looking forward to having you home. Love, Dick and Eillen
