ot- gen started e-stim on her wrists and fingers today. so far, everything that has been e-stimmed has started working on command. we're hoping this stays true with the fingers. she also worked with the arm bike and did some driving.
pt- driving again, outside and through doorways and into elevators. gen did some more stepping. today, i couuld really feel her initiating the leg movements. she's not quite strong enough to do it on her own, but she'll get there.
st- gen was filmed today for a speech therapy training video.

Genevieve,
We were so excited to read about you getting to take steps. It sounds like you really have some good motivated therapists. That is also very cool that they are using e-stim on your hand muscles now.
I don't know what the e-stim machine looks like, but when I read about it I picture those people in the commercials for those electrical belts that shock your stomach until you are thin. The people in the commercials would always be smiling really big like they were enjoying the shocks.
I know the e-stim is probably nothing like that, I just like to picture you pretending to make an infomercial with it.
Well that is enough rambling for me, I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.

Dear Gen, Josh, and Susan,
Again I am amazed at the new things going on in Lincoln. Thank you for keeping everyone posted. I would imagine that by the end of each day, you are all very tired and ready for a good night's rest. On the other hand, I am looking through 50-something eyes. Perhaps those 20-something kids don't wear out as fast as I do! I am sending you our email address. If there is anything we can do to help out here in Carthage, please let us know.
Love,
Melfin
