saturday evening

it is so nice to know that people care enough to read about gen here, and to pray for her and her progress. i am amazed and humbled by the comments from friends new and old, by the dedication to prayer i see in church groups all over, by the kindness extended to us through this blog. thank you everyone for keeping us in your hearts and trusting us to God's care. that's where i want to be. gen had a slow day since it is saturday, but she did work on the arm bicycle in ot (she pedalled it frontward and backward with her arms today...backward was a first) and she practised driving the wheelchair in pt. david was her therapist today, and he had her work on driving around cones outside where the weather was beautiful. tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90s, and gen is looking forward to that. she gets to go out tomorrow afternoon again. today she also had company, and she would like to say thanks to dick and eillen for the flowers and the cookies and for the nice visit. she's sorry pt cut short the goodbyes with you. gen says thanks to forest for the stuffed animal and for bringing leighton and randi for a visit. and thanks to leighton and randi for bringing the top layer of the wedding cake for josh and gen's first anniversary celebration tomorrow.

Josh and Gen, Happy Anniverary. I remember because it was the same day as my brother's friends and we were at the Baptist Church while you were on the Court house lawn. Sounds like Gen is still making progress by leaps and bounds. YEAH! Josh, everyone at work says to say "Hi" to you all and wish you many, many more years ahead. Hope to see you all back home soon. Was your wedding cake still good? I had expected ours to be dry when it thawed out but it was actually still very good. Randi gets all of the credit there, it was so good to begin with that I shouldn't have been surprised. We hope you two had an enjoyable Anniversary.

I know it's late, but we all celebrated your anniversary in spirit. I still have the Shakespeare card you sent as an invitation pinned up to remind me of your journey.

We all love you and wish we could visit in Nebraska.

Every night, the girls and I pray specifically for your continued progress and for the Great Healer and Creator to do His work in you.

With love, Aunt Becky
