gen had a good time at the zoo yesterday. that outing counted as physical therapy and recreational therapy, and both those therapists went along. in ot gen worked with her arms, feeding herself using the mobile arm support. in speech therapy katie switched gen to regular liquids instead of nectar. this means she can have coffee or juice or water without our having to thicken it. it tastes much better in its real form than thickened. she had a good night's sleep, and today was a slower pace in therapy. she worked on sitting and leaning in pt, feeding herself in ot and working on strengthening her tongue in speech therapy. she is eating three full meals a day, and has fruit or yogurt with her medications (pills are powdered and mixed in). she had lots of visitors in the last two days. gen says to jenny, richie, connie, carey and momo, "thanks for coming to see me, and i hope you had a safe trip home." it was very good to see gen talking by way of her laser computer screen and laughing with her company. god has blessed her with something new every day, and that is a wonderful answer to the prayers of many people. thank you for caring.

My name is Teresa and I'm a myspace friend of "Gizmo" and heard about Genevieve's health via myspace. I had seen Gizmo at Gene's a few months back and was blown away. Since I heard about Genevieve and her family I've been keeping tabs on her progress and it has been inspiring to say the least. I felt that I was lurking too much and thought I would introduce myself. I must say that I feel so strong as a person just by the triumphs I have read in this blogspace. At first I felt the devastation and then I realized how wonderful and amazing we humans can be! So Genevieve I just wanna say that I was only at that one show and I cannot wait to come to more shows when you girls (and boys) can shake your stuff! You're an inspiration and I am so impressed by you and your family and the humour and love and the progess! And I'm so happy that there are healthcare providers that so obviously love their jobs. So, I will continue to follow your amazing accomplishments and I do think of you often. That may sound strange coming from a stranger, but you have touched my life in a way. Good gravy I sound so cheesy but it's true. Take care and I am so proud of you...you know from one human to another. :)
It's always great when visitors arrive to give a new perspective on daily life! So happy people are able to get to Nebraska and visit. The trip to the zoo sounds like a great inspiring journey not only for Gen, but for the staff as well. They must find their jobs so rewarding when they work with someone as amazing as Gen! Keep up the good work and continuing to amaze us all! Love, Tracey
