gen had a good day today. she got to hear her voice again in speech therapy. they let me pick a song off their list for us to sing, and i chose "row, row, row your boat." gen kept up with most of the words, getting voice out with them pretty well. she is not so much singing as making sound in conjunction with mouth movement. i was happy to hear her voice "life is but a dream" and then cry for joy. the room was lined with nurses waiting to hear her talk. they've been so eager for this to happen. everyone wanted to be the first to hear her. in physical therapy we stayed in her room and worked on balance and stretching and head movements. the occupational therapist is on vacation, and her replacement didn't make it to the session, so we just worked with the physical therapist. during the afternoon, gen moved her feet and toes for various nurses. she also squeezed josh's hand twice with her right hand. she did this without moving her whole arm, which she usually does with hand movement. we think she is getting more control over these motions, and that is so good for her to feel. while we see how much she can do now that she could not do three weeks ago or even last week, she sometimes gets sad knowing what she expects to do and seeing how hard it is even to move a toe. we are so thankful for all the people who are praying for her and encouraging her in so many ways. god is good and we are blessed indeed.

Have You seen the commercial with the M&Ms rowing on the slave ship, they are singing row row row your boat, they get the overseer mad, he cracks his whip the slaves get quiet, then, the m&ms start singing start singing, Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby...I crack up every time I see that commercial, I laugh out loud. You will too!
Great Day!
Dear Gen,
Your progress is amazing!!! God has truly heard everyone's prayers. We are headed to church for the Fri. morn healing service where again your name will be in the prayers for the people. You are mentioned by name at mass 6 times a week as I am sure Sue has told you. God bless you and keep up the good work and your spirits.
Jerry, Kathy and Sophie Too!
Hi Gen, Susan and Josh--
I'm so very proud of you all. I miss you.
The other day I was wrapping a package for Audrey to take to a birthday party and I remembered your love of tape: "A place for every piece of tape, and a piece of tape for every place," or something like that. It reminded me of your situation now. There's a place for every piece of progress, and every piece of progress has its own place. You are being wonderfully guided, with all these loving people, toward the healing in place for you.
With love, Aunt Becky
Every day another step forward! I am so impressed with the determination of all of you! I meant to comment the other day, Gen saying "entertain me" shows a very active Nirvana brain!!! Keep up the hard work although it appears to be small steps, it is actually giant leaps. Keep singing love you, Tracey
Gen, you don't realize how many cheerleaders you have rooting for you! You've got waaaay more than you will ever know.
Very best site. Keep working. Will return in the near future.
